About us
Access and mobility solutions for the home. Because independence matters.
Ramps For Access is one of the UK’s foremost providers of access and mobility solutions for the home. Our high quality products, including modular wheelchair ramps, threshold ramps, stair rail supports and half steps, enable older people, those with limited mobility or disabilities to maintain their independence, freedom and safety at home.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to remain living at home, within their local community, for as long as their health permits. We understand the positive impact of living at home on social inclusion and the physical and mental well-being of the individual.
A second-generation family-run business, Ramps For Access was founded in 1996 and today works in partnership with occupational therapists and grants managers at local authorities and housing associations, as well as home improvement agencies, community equipment suppliers and private individuals throughout the UK.
Importantly, Ramps for Access is unique in the fact that all of its products are designed and manufactured right here in the UK. What’s more, our class-leading modular wheelchair ramps are supported by a complete in-house service, comprising site survey, design, manufacture, minor groundworks and installation.
Recyclability and affordability are naturally paramount concerns to us as well, and so for local authorities and housing associations for example, we will also dismantle, refurbish and store our modular ramp systems ready for reuse by those in need.
We are also recognised as a technical innovator, and proudly claim a notable series of industry firsts. These include our modular ramp system design, the use of anti-slip GRP open mesh ramp surfaces and warm-to-the-touch handrail sleeves. We’re inventive and don’t stop thinking of ways to make our access and mobility solutions even better.
